IOboard Smart Industrial Analog and Digital I/O over Ethernet, USB or RS-422
IOboard systems are highly modular DIN rail mounted interfaces for I/O signals with communication to the controlling computer over Ethernet (TCP/IP), USB or RS-422.
IOboard systems can consist of one or many networked IOboard Nodes, each composed of one IOboard Base Module (Ethernet or USB) and the required combination of analog and digital IOboard Interface Modules. For smaller applications direct communication to the computer over RS-422 is possible, without the need for a Base Module.
IOboard systems are very easy to install and to program; no drivers are needed.
Digital I/O Interface Modules provides monitoring and control of high/low, or open/close industrial devices.
Analog I/O Interface Modules support a wide variety of industrial devices, voltages and currents. High resolution low noise A/D and D/A converters deliver high accuracy and reliability.
Isolation assures high system performance and electrical security.
IOboard Nodes are event-driven and can detect changes in IO lines, digital and analog, without the need for polling. Optionally, complex control functions like PID loops can be integrated in the control modules, ensuring reliable distributed control.
IOboard Modules are flexible, affordable, reliable and easy to install and program.

Communication:
The controlling computer will often be a PC, and will communicate with the IOboard system in one of three ways:
- Ethernet TCP/IP - requires the BasEth Base Module.
- USB - requires the BasUSB Base Module.
- RS422 - does not require any Base Module.
The computer application controlling the I/O Modules will use Chain Protocol to initialize the modules and allow the controlling computer to perform general tasks such as:
- queries of analog and digital inputs
- setting of analog and digital outputs
- configuration of analog and digital inputs and outputs
- configuration of event channel
- setting of the I/O Node IP address
- queries of IOboard information
- events: changes in analog and digital inputs
- optional PID function for analog I/O
Writing an interface requires the use of a DLL, for example for C# see the
documentation.
Custom IOboard
For volume requirements IOboard.net can provide fast-turnaround custom modules meeting your exact specifications, including any mix of analog, digital and other signals.
Also we can package sets of standard modules into blocks in a single enclosure, as a monolithic block, preconfigured for you.
