IOboard-E Control Module with Ethernet

IOboard-E is the master unit that controls IOboard Interface Modules, provides power to them, and communicates with the rest of the control system over Ethernet. The combination of one Control Module and a combination of various Interface Modules is referred to as an IOboard Node.
In a typical IOboard Node, up to 16 IOboard Interface Modules, in any combination of analog and digital input and output, can be connected to the IOboard-E Control Module, simply by attaching them in cascade and mounting the ensemble onto a DIN rail.
One or many such IOboard Nodes can connected to a control computer via Ethernet and TCP/IP. Smart firmware allows one to configure the devices, to read and set I/O lines and to set event triggers.
Because all communication and control takes place over Ethernet, the drivers required are already installed in the computers that will be managing and supervising the IOboard system. There is no need to battle with drivers and the typical reliability and management problems associated for example with USB under Windows. there is no Plug and Play, the system is ready to use immediately once connected. Control, management and supervision can be handled using simple commands over the network.
